Horizon Training

DID YOU KNOW…

…that Horizon Training exists?

…that Horizon Training is found behind Cranfields Cafe on Whitecross Road?

…that Horizon Training provides training opportunities for 16-19 year olds, many of whom have social and emotional barriers to learning (refugees, those who have been in care all their lives, young offenders, the word-blind, those with mental or physical disabilities)

… that as well as English and Maths, Horizon Training offers courses in Bricklaying, Plastering, Carpentry, Decorating, Basic plumbing, Beauty, Sport, Catering, Retail, Business Administration and Customer Service.

…that Horizon Training also helps young people to find work experience and jobs.

…that Horizon Training helps young people with their personal, behavioural and social development to equip them for life.

…that last year alone Horizon Training worked with 86 students, of whom 60% found Employment or went into Further Education and 68% obtained Qualifications.

…that without Horizon Training the opportunities for these young people would be severely limited and who knows where these young people might find themselves.

…that Horizon Training staff members genuinely care for these young people, and go above and beyond to give them the best chance they can for a positive start in life.

…that the future of Horizon Training is threatened.

…that in April, Horizon Training will be forced to leave their premises.

…that this will mean some of the young people may not be able to take their assessments to gain the qualifications they have worked towards, and none will be able to continue and complete their courses.

…that Horizon Training is doing all they can to find new premises to continue to provide for these young people.

…that Horizon Training is part of our community and so are these young people.

…that you can help?

•   Horizon training will very soon be setting up a crowdfunding page to raise money for new premises so that they can continue the essential work they do to help turn around the lives of young people and give them hope for the future.

•   If you would like to help keep this resource for our community please look out for details of the crowdfunding page and consider giving in support.
